Dr. Witold Kabański was born on June 5, 1958 in Warsaw.

He is an advocate at the Warsaw Bar Association. He obtained his master's degree in law in 1985 at the Faculty of Law and Administration of the University of Warsaw. He completed his advocate training in the years 1986-1990, which ended with a very good bar exam and since the beginning of 1991 he has been running an advocate's practice in Warsaw.

In 2011, he obtained a doctoral degree in law at the Lazarski University in Warsaw.

In 2015, he was awarded the Distinguished Bar badge.

He has published, m.in, in "Przegląd Politologiczny", "Samorząd Terytorialneny", "Krakowskie Studia Małopolskich – Uniwersytet Jagielloński", "Civilization and Politics – University of Gdańsk". He has adjudicated in the Court of Arbitration at the Polish Chamber of Commerce in Warsaw. He is a long-term judge of the Disciplinary Court of the Bar Association in Warsaw, and in the years 2016-2021 he served as the President of this Court.

Since March 2021, he has been a judge of the Higher Disciplinary Court of the Bar.

He mainly deals with criminal, economic and civil law. His research interests include substantive and procedural criminal law, constitutional law and political science. He conducts classes for advocate trainees - he is a lecturer at the District Bar Council in Warsaw in the field of criminal law, constitutional law and ethics.

Since September 2021, he has been a member of the Council of Bars and Law Societies in Europe based in Brussels (CCBE).

Professionally, he speaks Polish and English, and in his law firm he also serves clients who also speak German and Norwegian.

Since 2022, he has been the President of the Institute for the Control of the Rule of Law Association based in Warsaw.

He has been an examiner conducting the bar exam in the field of criminal law many times, and since 2024 he has been a permanent member of the Examination Committee to conduct the bar exam in Warsaw in the field of criminal law (Ordinance of the Minister of Justice of 19 February 2024 – Professionally, he speaks Polish and English, and in his law firm he also serves clients who also speak German and Norwegian.

Since 2022, he has been the President of the Institute for the Control of the Rule of Law Association based in Warsaw.

He has been an examiner conducting the bar exam in the field of criminal law many times, and since February 2024 he has been a permanent member of the Examination Committee to conduct the bar exam in Warsaw in the field of criminal law (Regulation of the Minister of Justice of 19 February 2024 – – Official Journal item 53)).

In 2024, he was appointed by the Minister of Justice to the team to prepare test questions for the entrance exam for candidates for advocate and attorney-at-law trainees, as a representative of the Supreme Bar Council in the field of criminal law.
